Sprachlevels
Die meisten Sprachschulen offerieren Ihnen Sprachkurse vom Beginner bis zum Profi. Gemäss CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference) sind die Kurse in den 6 Sprachlevels aufgeteilt:
| A1 |
beginners/elementary
Can understand and use familiar everyday expressions and very basic phrases aimed at the satisfaction of needs of a concrete type. Can introduce him/herself and others and can ask and answer questions about personal details such as where he/she lives, people he/she knows and things he/she has. Can interact in a simple way provided the other person talks slowly and clearly and is prepared to help. |
| A2 |
pre-intermediate
Can understand sentences and frequently used expressions related to areas of most immediate relevance (e.g. very basic personal and family information, shopping, local geography, employment). Can communicate in simple and routine tasks requiring a simple and direct exchange of information on familiar and routine matters. Can describe in simple terms aspects of his/her background, immediate environment and matters in areas of immediate need. |
| B1 |
intermediate
Can understand the main points of clear standard input on familiar matters regularly encountered in work, school, leisure, etc. Can deal with most situations likely to arise whilst travelling in an area where the language is spoken. Can produce simple connected text on topics which are familiar or of personal interest. Can describe experiences and events, dreams, hopes & ambitions and briefly give reasons and explanations for opinions and plans. |
| B2 |
upper intermediate
Can understand the main ideas of complex text on both concrete and abstract topics, including technical discussions in his/her field of specialisation. Can interact with a degree of fluency and spontaneity that makes regular interaction with native speakers quite possible without strain for either party. Can produce clear, detailed text on a wide range of subjects and explain a viewpoint on a topical issue giving the advantages and disadvantages of various options. |
| C1 |
advanced
Can understand a wide range of demanding, longer texts, and recognise implicit meaning. Can express him/herself fluently and spontaneously without much obvious searching for expressions. Can use language flexibly and effectively for social, academic and professional purposes. Can produce clear, well-structured, detailed text on complex subjects, showing controlled use of organisational patterns, connectors and cohesive devices. |
| C2 |
proficiency
Can understand with ease virtually everything heard or read. Can summarise information from different spoken and written sources, reconstructing arguments and accounts in a coherent presentation. Can express him/herself spontaneously, very fluently and precisely, differentiating finer shades of meaning even in the most complex situations. |

Cambridge ESOL International Qualification
| KET |
Key English Test
The Cambridge KEY English Test is the first level of Cambridge ESOL Exams. It is an elementary level exam, set at level A2 of the Council of Europe's Common European Framework for modern languages. KET recognises the ability to cope with everyday written and spoken communications at a basic level.
KET enables candidates to demonstrate a level of English that is useful when travelling in English speaking countries. |

Preliminary English Test
The Cambridge Preliminary English Test (PET) is the second level of Cambridge ESOL exam. It is an intermediate level exam, set at level B1 of the council of Europe's Common European Framework for modern languages. PET recognises the ability to cope with everyday written and spoken communications. |
| FCE |
Cambridge First Certificate in English
The Cambridge First Certificate in English is the third level of Cambridge ESOL exams. It is upper intermediate level exam, set at level B2 of the Council of Europe's Common Framework for modern languages, and recognises the ability to deal confidently with a range written and spoken communications.

| CAE |
Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English
CAE is seen by institutions of higher education as proof of adequate language skills for courses taught and assessed in English. Almost all universities in the UK and a growing number in the USA recognise CAE.
The examination is based on realistic tasks, and indicates the ability to use the language in practical situations. Successful candidates are able to participate in meetings and discussions, expressing opinions clearly and are able to understand and produce texts of various types, including business letters and reports. |

Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English
The Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English is a Cambridge ESOL exam. It is a very advanced level exam, set at level C2 of the Common European Framework for modern languages.
The certificate is recognised by universities and employers throughout the world. All candidates receive a statement of results, showing how they performed in each of the five papers.

IELTS International Qualification
IELTS, a Cambridge ESOL and Brithis Council partnership, is an international English language test which grades candidates from 1, non-user, to 9, expert user, in one examination which held practically every month. Universities worldwide usually accept a score of 6.5 as an entry qualification.
